Present your Blugold Mobile ID whenever access to facilities and services is required. A Blugold Mobile ID is required when using your meal plan, for textbook rental transactions in the University Bookstore, and to borrow materials from McIntyre Library. Your Blugold Mobile ID also offers you the following:

Door access at residence halls and academic buildings
Reduced-price tickets for many campus activities and events
Access to McPhee Physical Education Center facilities
Free use of the Eau Claire Transit System

Voter ID*

*While physical Blugold IDs are compliant with Wisconsin Voter ID laws, mobile IDs are not. Students who are eligible to vote can request a free voter ID compliant card from the Blugold Card Office. Learn more about Wisconsin’s voter photo ID and proof of residency requirements here.

eAccounts

The UWEC eAccounts portal gives you access to your campus accounts.

Features of the portal include:

Deposit funds into your Blugold or Diner's Club account using your credit or debit account
Purchase a Flex 50 Meal Plan (no purchases allowed after February 28)
View transaction history of your campus accounts

Blugold Mobile ID vs. Physical Blugold ID Card ... What's the difference?

Our campus is a mobile-first campus, meaning that students are encouraged to use their mobile credentials for all transactions while on campus. Blugold Mobile ID's can do everything a physical card can do, with the added benefits of convenience, accessibility, safety and sustainability.

The cost of Mobile ID's is included in tuition.

The cost of a physical Blugold ID card is $15 for all students. Physical cards can be purchased in-person in the Blugold Card Office during regular business hours.

How do I deposit money for printing?

To add additional money for printing, you will need to add money to your Blugold Account.

There are two ways to make deposits:

1. Stop in the Blugold Card Services Office. Cash, check, Mastercard, VISA, Discover, and debit accepted.

Regular semester office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

2. Login to Eaccounts. Mastercard, VISA, Discover, and debit accepted. Eaccounts transactions can be made 24 hours a day.

Deposit money to BLUGOLD ACCOUNT for printing.

eAccounts is "Locked due to inactivity". What do I do?

I need access to a door. Who do I contact?

I lost my physical Blugold Card. How do I get a new one?

Stop in the Blugold Card Services Office (Davies Center), they will be happy to help you.

They can check to see if your ID card has been turned in. If it has, it will be returned to you.

If you need a new card, they can print a new one while you wait. The replacement cost is $15. It usually takes less than 5 minutes.

To avoid paying for a replacement card you could also follow these steps to get your Blugold Mobile ID:

Download the Transact eAccounts app on your mobile phone
Login with your UWEC username and password
Click "Add to Wallet"

The "Tap" on my physical Blugold ID card does not work anymore. What do I do?

There is a chip and antenna within the card to allow the "tap" capability. These can be damaged if the card is bent or exposed to magnetic forces (for instance in a phone pocket when the phone is being charged).

The Card Office staff will check your card on our equipment to verify that the card does not work. If you need a new card, we can replace it for you while you wait. The replacement cost is $15. The wait time for the card is usually less than 5 minutes.

My Blugold Card is expired. What do I do?

ID Cards for Online Programs

Students in certain online degree-seeking programs are now eligible for a Blugold ID Card for Online Students. If desired, please contact your academic program personnel for details.

Other Helpful Information

Funds deposited into campus accounts cannot be used to pay tuition.
Deposits may not be refunded for cash.
DO NOT PUNCH A HOLE anywhere in your card or you will be charged $15 to replace it. If you would like to attach your card to something, please visit the University Bookstore for cardholder options.
If using a card pocket attached to a cell phone, please remove Blugold Card when charging phone as it may erase or damage chip in the card.
On-line purchases of the Flex 50 Meal Plan may take approximately one business day to appear on student accounts.
Diners Club and Blugold account balances are refunded only when your relationship with the university ends and there is an account balance of $25 or more. You must request a refund from Blugold Card Services, Davies Center 110, within one month of ending your association with the university. A $15 processing fee will be assessed for all refund requests.
