Supporting Student Scholarships

Through your attendance and support of the Ball, we have raised more than $1.5 million in music, service and international study scholarships and awards. Nearing its fifth decade, the Ball welcomes the community to support the Ball, experience the excellence of our music programs and appreciate the character of our student-scholars.

Elegance

The Viennese Ball is inspired by the historic Kaiser Ball housed in Vienna at the Hofburg Congress Center, the former Imperial Palace and seat of the Austrian emperors. A multi-roomed New Year’s Eve extravaganza in the style of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elizabeth’s “Ball at Court,” the Kaiser Ball features thousands of flowers, wonderful food, and a wide variety of musical events including Salonmusik, Volkmusik, and, of course, orchestras playing Viennese waltzes.

Music & Dancing

Waltz and swing dance to Big Band standards in our Grand Ballroom, polka in the Festival Hall, enjoy music and fun in the American Bar and enjoy showcase performances on our Bösendorfer Concert Grand Imperial Piano.

Check out the evening schedule here!

Food & Drink

Enjoy a variety of traditional Austrian street food offered in an a la carte setting in the Naschmarket, local beer, Viennese wines and mixed drinks. There will also be a variety of desserts featuring our famous Sacher torte style cakes.

Local Beer in die Bierstube (2nd Floor Living Room)

Try out a variety of locally brewed beers, some made *specifically for the 2024 Viennese Ball.

K-Point Brewery | *Vienna Lager 4.9% ABV
The Vienna Lager has a malty aroma and light malt sweetness with a lightly toasted malt characteristic. The bitterness is low to medium low and finishes clean and crisp.

The Brewing Projekt | Dare Mighty Things 7.4% ABV
Our original hazy IPA. The dare mighty things series features a showcase of one single hop per variant. We really want the unique characteristics of each hop to be on full display in each beer. If you’re in the haze craze, this is the beer for you.

The Brewing Projekt | *Golden Toast 4.5% ABV
This beer pours a clear, bright straw yellow to pale-golden color with a creamy white head. Unlike German Pilsners, this Lager is more malt-forward in character, exhibiting bready, toasted grain flavors with only a hint of sweetness.

Chippewa River Distillery & Brewster Brothers Brewing | Tilden Weizen 5.2% ABV
This is a German wheat beer. Made from a mixture of barley and wheat malts, it is fermented with a special yeast strain to produce clove and banana flavor characteristics.
