The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Sport Operations includes the McPhee/Olson Complex, Simpson fields, Bollinger fields, Towers field, tennis courts, six volleyball courts, basketball courts, a 9-hole disc golf course, and a 9-element outdoor Vita Course. These facilities host a myriad of activities from Recreation programming and drop-in play, Athletic practices and competitions, and classes.
Outdoor Facilities
The Recreation Department is responsible for a variety of sport and recreation facilities both indoor and outdoor on upper campus. These outdoor facilities include three basketball courts, eight tennis courts, three volleyball courts, and the James L Rice Fitness Loop. There is also rugby, softball, and baseball fields about a half mile south of upper campus at Bollinger Fields. Simpson field is located just behind McPhee Education Center and has new turf and track and field areas.

Indoor Facilities
The Recreation Department is responsible for a variety of sport and recreation facilities both indoor and outdoor on upper campus. These indoor facilities include two on campus fitness centers, one off campus fitness center, a bouldering wall, a climbing wall, a billiards center, and an archery range.

Community members only have the option to purchase the indoor running track pass which can be used during select hours. The fees for track access are $15/month, $60/6 months, or $100/year.

For drop-in play there is no charge for current students, faculty, staff, and spouses. There may be a rental charge for reserving rooms or activity spaces.
Assumption of Risk
The UW-Eau Claire Recreation and Sport Operations Department offers a variety of programs for individual and group activities. Programs involve strenuous physical activity and rigorous exertion, including, but not limited to, intramural sports, personal training, aerobic dance and exercise, weight training, stationary bicycling and the use of various aerobic-conditioning machinery found at the Crest Fitness Center, McPhee/Olson, Bollinger Fields, etc. The Recreation and Sports Operations Department also offers a variety of classes for physical activity and instruction. In addition, staff is available at each location to assist people on an individual basis and to answer questions.
Participants must understand that these activities are potentially hazardous and that fitness and athletic activities involve a risk of injury and even death. Risks include, but are not limited to, heart attacks, muscle strains, pulls or tears, broken bones, shin splints, heat prostration, knee/lower back/foot injuries, and drowning. Participants must be in sufficient physical condition to accept a rigorous level of physical activity. Anyone with questions in this area is advised to contact their personal physician.
Participants must also understand that the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire does not provide blanket medical coverage to students, staff or visitors and that the University strongly encourages participants to carry health insurance that provides comprehensive medical and emergency room coverage. Participants must agree to abide by the instructions, rules and regulations for the specific activity as indicated by Recreation and Sport Operations. Furthermore, participants agree to be considerate of fellow participants and to conduct themselves in a safe and responsible manner.
Participants use the facilities voluntarily and are responsible for their health and safety.
Eligibility
The following individuals can use the Recreation Facilities:
All UW-Eau Claire students who have paid segregated fees can access recreation facilities during the period for which the fee is paid. Students must present their current valid Blugold ID to gain access.
Current UW-Eau Claire faculty, staff, and emeriti who have paid fees and who also possess a valid Blugold ID card and their spouses may access facilities at no cost. Children of current UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff may use the facilities on weekends when they are accompanied by their parent(s).

ID holders from other University of Wisconsin System schools can access the facilities.
CVTC Faculty, Staff and Students who have an Inter-Institutional Agreement Card from the CVTC Cashier's Office may purchase an MSPC membership, get the student price for Wellness Classes, Massage Therapy, EAC services and the Climbing wall; and use the McPhee/Olson track, basketball courts, racquetball courts, and swimming pool and no extra charge.
Opportunities for Participation
Recreation and Sport Operations offers a wide variety of events and programs. Clubs Sports provide a more in-depth sports experience that may include instruction, practice, and competition with other colleges and universities. Fitness programs include cardio, strength, yoga, water and total body conditioning classes, and fitness training at the Crest Fitness Center and McPhee Strength and Performance Center (MSPC). Open Recreation provides the opportunity to participate in unstructured physical activity such as lap swimming, walking/running, or basketball. Intramural Sports offer a variety of competitive sports.

University Recreation and Sport Operations is not responsible for lost or stolen items. However, we do operate a Lost & Found service at each facility:

- McPhee/Olson - Inquire at the Open Recreation Office
