Are you interested in conducting biological research?

Intro

The Biology Research Scholars Program (BRSP) enables biology majors/minors to participate in undergraduate research through seminar coursework and a summer research experience at UWEC!

Widgets

The BRSP involves a year+ commitment that includes:

  • 2-credit seminar class in spring semester as an introduction to biological research and logistics for summer research,
  • Paid part-time summer research experience with other UWEC students and a UWEC biology faculty mentor (similar to ORSP SREU stipend),
  • 2-credit seminar class in fall semester focused on data analysis + professional development,
  • Continuing research with your faculty mentor through the academic year following your summer research, and
  • Presentation of your research on campus at UWEC CERCA in the spring semester.

Applications are received in fall semester, and positions are finalized before registration begins for spring semester classes. Applicants need to have completed BIOL222/223 by the end of the fall semester of an application and intend to enroll for upcoming academic year; students typically apply as 2nd-year/3rd-year students.
