Their passion for nursing and for teaching overflows into the classroom and into the experiences you'll get outside the classroom. In addition, our knowledgeable staff is here to help guide you throughout your education and make sure you have the resources necessary to be successful.
Dr. Mel Skoff is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2017. She has been teaching since 2009 as teaching assistant and tutor and a graduate assistant from 2013-2017. She taught as a faculty member from 2018-2022 at the College of St. Scholastica. She has been teaching as a full-time faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire since January 2023. She teaches primarily in the Graduate Nursing Department. She enjoys teaching Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Health Assessment, and Role Preparation courses. She enjoys advising students and working to teach students advance care planning facilitation as part of her scholarship project.

Miriam A. Sward, DNP, is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Graduate Nursing Program at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She is a dual board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
