Parking Permits
Purchase a permit
Permit sales for the 2024-25 academic year will start at the beginning of August and continue through the month. Permits will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are sold out.
A permit is required to park on campus year-round except in timed AMP parking stalls. All faculty, staff, and students that wish to park on campus during permit enforcement hours must have a valid University parking permit or pay in a timed parking zone. Explore permit options below.

Please note if you have any unpaid parking citations, you will not be able to purchase a parking permit until payment is received.
2024-25 Parking Permits
- Permit sales for returning residence hall students who completed the parking Qualtrics in May begin August 1 at 10:00 a.m.
- Permit sales for incoming, new students and those that did not complete the parking Qualtrics in May begin August 8 at 10:00 a.m.
Permits will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are sold out. If permits sell out, you will be able to add yourself to the waitlist through the parking portal. If a permit becomes available later in the year, those on the waitlist will be notified of the availability.
The permit is valid and required:
- 6am – 4pm Monday-Friday in the Activity ‘A’ designated stalls in the Activity parking lot, located six blocks from campus on McArthur Avenue (1/2 block from the Bollinger parking lot).
Permit holders vehicles can remain parked in the lot outside of these hours.

Permits will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are sold out. If surface permits sell out, you will be able to add yourself to the waitlist through the online portal. If a permit becomes available later in the year, those on the waitlist will be notified of the availability.
Students living in Aspenson Mogensen can choose to purchase a surface lot ‘W’ or underground permit valid from May 20, 2024 – May 16, 2025.
- Surface ‘W’ parking: 'W' parking stalls are located in the Water Street or Human Sciences and Services lot, within a block of the residence hall. SOLD OUT
- Underground parking: Located below AM Hall, more limited availability than surface parking. SOLD OUT

The permit is valid and required:
- Starting Monday 6 a.m. continuously through Friday at 4 p.m. in the designated ‘C’ parking stalls located on the east side of the Chippewa Valley Technical College’s (CVTC) large parking lot: located either by continuing past the light at University Drive, or at the intersection of Clairemont Avenue and University Drive.
- The ‘C’ permit is only valid in the ‘C’ parking lot.
- The ‘C’ permit is not valid in any other permitted stall type (‘R’, ‘A’, ‘B’, etc.) during enforceable hours.

- No permits will be issued if the plate or account has any outstanding parking tickets until they are paid.
- If purchasing in person, a Blugold ID is required to purchase the permit.
- Cars parked in university parking lots must have license plates visible from the drive aisle, or will receive a citation.

- 6am – 4pm Monday-Friday in ‘F/S’ designated stalls in the Human Science & Services and Water Street parking lot.
- 6am – 9pm Monday-Friday in upper campus ‘R’ designated stalls

The 30-day permits are intended for short term use of a vehicle and availability is limited.
The permit is valid and required:
- 6am – 4pm Monday-Friday in ‘S’ designated stalls in the McPhee, Phillips and Priory parking lots
- 6am – 4pm Monday-Friday in ‘F/S’ designated stalls in the Human Science & Services and Water Street parking lot.
- 6am – 9pm Monday-Friday in upper campus ‘R’ designated stalls

Students who are commuting to campus and don’t have a permit of any type may purchase up to five ‘S’ daily parking permits per semester. The daily permits are intended for short term use of a vehicle and availability is limited.

- 6am – 4pm Monday-Friday in ‘S’ designated stalls in the McPhee, Phillips and Priory parking lots
- 6am – 4pm Monday-Friday in ‘F/S’ designated stalls in the Human Science & Services and Water Street parking lot.
- 6am – 9pm Monday-Friday in upper campus ‘R’ designated stalls

If a permit becomes available later in the year, those on the waitlist will be notified of the availability.
Students living in Haymarket Landing can choose to purchase an underground permit or city contract permit valid for the academic year.
- Haymarket - City Contract: City of Eau Claire parking ramp located on the corner of Barstow and Galloway Street.
- Haymarket - Underground: Located below Haymarket Landing, availability is more limited than the parking ramp.

The permit is valid and required:
- 6am – 4pm Monday-Friday in the Priory parking lot in any ‘F’, ‘S’ or ‘R’ stalls
- 6am – 9pm Monday-Friday in the ‘R’ designated stalls in the Bridgman, Chancellors, Oakridge, Prairie and Towers parking lots
- 6am – 4pm Monday-Friday in ‘F/S’ stalls in the Water Street parking lot only.

Purchase Permit
Students who are living in the residence halls that and don’t have a permit of any type may purchase up to five ‘R’ daily parking permits per semester. The permit is valid in the Resident ‘R’ designated stalls in the Bridgman, Chancellors, Oakridge, Prairie, Priory and Towers parking lots.
The daily permits are intended for short term use of a vehicle and availability is limited. Permit cost is $6 per day.
Permits can be purchased in Blugold Central.

If you received Emeriti status from UW-Eau Claire upon retirement, you may be eligible for an Emeriti parking permit.
2024-25 Emeriti Permits are valid through August 24, 2025.
Permits must be renewed annually. 2024-25 parking permit details will be emailed on or about August 21, 2024 from Blugold Central.

Purchase online up to 7 days before you will be on campus. The permit is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. Permit cost is $35.

The permit is valid in the Guaranteed ‘G’ designated stalls in the parking lot, in which you were assigned and in ‘F’ stalls Monday-Friday from 6am-4pm and ‘R’ stalls Monday-Friday from 7am-9pm.

Purchase Permit
As a service to faculty and staff, we offer payroll deduction as a way to pay for your annual parking permit.
For University Staff and Faculty/Academic/Limited Staff, Human Resources will take seventeen (17) equal, consecutive deductions. Please check back soon for more information once definitive dates are set for when payroll deduction sign-up will close and when the actual deductions will begin. If you are a new employee starting after this date, contact Blugold Central, 836-3000, to set up payroll deduction.
If your vehicle is disabled on campus:
Contact Blugold Central at 715-836-3000 and let us know that your vehicle is disabled. The parking enforcement staff will connect with the vehicle owner to get a virtual disabled vehicle parking permit issued to the vehicle. The permit will be valid for up to 24 hours (the vehicle must be removed from campus during that time period). Without a valid disabled vehicle notice, disabled vehicles on campus will be issued a citation.
If it is outside of Blugold Central staffed hours, contact University Police.
Faculty, staff, and students with state issued ADA permits or license plates must purchase a UWEC campus parking permit in addition to the permit/plate issued by the state. Please forward documentation of your state ADA permit to Blugold Central to have on file.
Parking is permitted in the following areas with a valid university parking permit in addition to your ADA parking permit/license plate being displayed.
- Reserved ADA parking stalls
- Four hour AMP timed parking zones (timed parking does not need to be purchased)
- 'F' stalls
- 'S' stalls
- 'R' or 'RS' stalls
Parking is NOT permitted in the following areas even with a valid university parking permit in addition to an ADA parking permit/license plate.
- 'G' stalls or 'W' stalls
- All non-ADA parking stalls in Visitor Lot A and Visitor Lot B weekdays from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- 30 minute AMP time parking zones (timed parking needs to be purchased)

The permit is valid in the designated moped pads located in the following areas: East end Sutherland Hall, East end of Chancellors Hall, Southeast end Phillips Hall, East end of Governors, McPhee (by main entrance), North end Haas Fine Arts, and northwest end HSS (Human Sciences and Services).
Mopeds must be walked on sidewalks.
