Mission Statement
We strive to create and spread happiness across the student body and community through three facets: gratitude, kindness, and giving.
Elements of the Happiness Project
GratiTuesdays
Each Tuesday volunteers from the University Activities Commission will target increasing students' gratitude through random activities, giveaways, and conversation starters. Research shows that practicing gratitude increases positive moods compared to individual's who do not practice gratitude. Additionally, people who practice gratitude are more likely to support people and complete acts of service.
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough."- Melodie Beatty
Intentional Acts of Kindness
This is a call to action to get involved in kindness yourself. A suggestion list is below with a variety of ideas that support acts of encouragement, service, and gratitude.
"Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you." - Princess Diana
Driving for Happiness
Throughout the year, we will be collecting donation items for Campus Harvest, the on-campus food pantry, and the Career Closet, an initiative that collects business professional attire for students. All donations can be dropped off in the Student Organization Center, Davies 220.
