Music and Theatre Arts Scholarships
Music to your ears
When you join the Music and Theatre program at UW-Eau Claire, you’ll quickly realize just how many amazing opportunities are available to you. Whether that means putting on the performance of a lifetime here or in another country, paying for college and the experiences that come with it can sometimes be expensive. The good news is there are several scholarships specifically for Blugolds who are involved in music and the theatre arts. But that’s not all—other scholarships based on your interests, future career goals and more are available as well.
The Music and Theatre Arts Department offers scholarships totaling nearly $200,000 to Blugolds active in the department each year. These scholarships include Viennese Ball Scholarships, which total over $30,000, and are available to incoming and continuing students majoring or minoring in music or theatre. Other scholarships include the Cassandra Ball Egdahl Music scholarship for incoming students, then Eileen Phillips Cohen Quartet scholarship for students who play string instruments, the Holiday Concert scholarship for students who participate in this annual celebration, the Margaret and Jack O’Farrell Music Scholarship, and many more.

Cohen String Scholarship
Watch to learn how Blugolds are supported in pursuing their passion of music through opportunities like the Eileen Phillips Cohen String Scholarship. All four members of the Eileen Phillips Cohen String Quartet receive full in-state tuition for the academic year, and there is the potential for the scholarship to cover a full four-year degree. Financial need is not a consideration. Eileen Phillips Cohen (1926-2017) was a long-time member (violinist) and supporter of the University Symphony Orchestra. This generous scholarship reflects Eileen Phillips Cohen's love of music and specifically her support of the University Symphony Orchestra.
