Leadership LLC
The Leadership Living Learning Community is a space for involved students to find their place on campus and put leadership ideas into practice. Participants are first-year students interested in building a community and exploring leadership development.
Living
The Leadership LLC is in Oak Ridge Hall on upper campus. The community will meet regularly and engage in leadership programming inside the hall.
Learning
The course attached to the Leadership LLC is IDIS 190: Leadership for a Better World. This course examines the Social Change Model and how it can be applied to everyday examples. Through open dialogue, group activities, individual reflections and real-world application, students will see themselves as change agents equipped with the skills necessary for Social Change leadership.
Programs and events
The Leadership LLC focuses on developing a sense of community while engaging in opportunities to learn and practice leadership. Students can expect to participate in group dinners, game nights, leadership movie nights, guest speakers, and much more. Additionally, Leadership LLC students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular leadership programming like the Leadership Seminar Series, Hall Council, Student Senate, the Alternative Spring Break/Alternative Winter Break immersion programs, or organization involvement. Opportunities to fulfill service-learning are also available to LLC participants.
