Event Information for Students

Although the details change from year to year, the traditions of the UWEC Homecoming carry on, and we are reminded each fall why this place is so special. Blugolds old and new alike can be guaranteed a weekend of fun times and exciting events, along with a perfect dose of nostalgia.

Homecoming: September 28th - October 5th

Event Schedule

Sunday, Sept. 28

• Pennant and Parade Float Prep | 12:00 - 5:00pm, Davies Student Center
  Show your campus pride by decorating a Homecoming pennant and create your parade float with your student organization or group. Registered groups will decorate their pennant to represent their organization/group along with the theme.

Monday, Sept. 29

• Royalty Campaigning Begins
  Groups or student organizations supporting a candidate must complete the form in advance.
• Medallion Hunt Begins 
  Each day the UAC Instagram will release one clue on the Instagram story until the Medallion is found!
• Homecoming Kickoff | 10:30am - 1:00pm, Campus Mall Amphitheatre
  Celebrate the start of Homecoming Week with free corndogs, pretzels, and swag!

Wednesday, Oct. 1

• Blu's Bingo - Homecoming Edition | 5-6:30pm, The Cabin

Thursday, Oct. 2

• Varsity Night Live | 7:00 pm, Schofield Auditorium 
  Co-hosted with the Singing Statesmen, come support various acts that sing, dance, and lip sync their way into the Homecoming weekend!

Friday, Oct. 3

• Campus Games | 4:00 - 6:00pm, Towers Field
  The classic relays, scooter racing, and tug-of-war return to upper campus! Students will duke it out over a series of games for glory, bragging rights, and spirit points! This event will happen, rain, snow, or shine.

Saturday, Oct. 4

• Parade | 10:00 am, Water Street (HFA to Sonnentag)
  We're bringing the Homecoming Parade BACK to Water Street! The parade route will begin at Water St. and 2nd Ave, and end in the Sonnentag parking lot. To march in the parade, sign up before Friday, Oct. 4th.
• Tailgating | 11:00 am, Carson Park 
  Get ready for the football game by tailgating at Carson Park, sponsored by the Alumni Association and the Foundation! Food and fun available prior to and during the game! From 11 a.m.-6 p.m., free shuttles will run from the Water Street lot to Carson Park on a continuous loop.

Important bag policy for game

Given the expected size of the Homecoming event this year, the UW-Eau Claire Alumni Association and Blugold athletics are instituting a clear-bag policy for the football game in Carson Park.

1. Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" or 30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm. This includes clear backpacks, clear fanny packs and clear cinch bags that fit within the permissible dimensions.
2. Small, non-clear bags that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" in size, with or without a handle or strap, can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.
3. Prohibited bags and containers include, but are not limited to: coolers, briefcases, non-clear backpacks, non-clear fanny packs, non-clear cinch bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags, camera or binocular bags, or any non-clear bag larger than the permissible size (4.5" x 6.5").

• Adopt-a-Block | 1:00 pm, Water Street Parking Lot 
  Students gather at the Water Street lot to assist in a neighborhood clean-up of post-Homecoming events. Groups participating are asked to complete the form by Friday, Oct. 4.
