Description

See the World and Understand It

The curriculum will provide you with a solid foundation in political theory, government, and politics from a global viewpoint. Coursework will explore how states, international organizations (private and public), and other global interactions influence and shape world politics. Our interdisciplinary approach to the degree allows you to take courses from a variety of departments and subjects, ranging from geography and language to anthropology and economics. Throughout the program, you'll learn from expert faculty who are passionate about political science and creating a personalized education to help you achieve your goals.

While at UW-Eau Claire, you'll not only have the opportunity to study the politics of the world — but you'll get the chance to see it, too. Join experienced faculty in Argentina as you study society, culture and economics during a cultural immersion program. Or study abroad in places like England or Guatemala. Countless opportunities to further your education outside the classroom — such as student organizations, internships and student-faculty research — are convenient ways to create a well-rounded and versatile education that is bound to impress future employers.

Graduates of our political science department leave with a valuable background in solving real-world problems, critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and the knowledge needed to maintain a global perspective. Upon graduation, you'll have the first-rate education and real-world experience necessary for a successful career in a variety of fields and industries.
