My artwork investigates the cultural shifts of small fishing and farming communities. The artwork is site-specific: The history of a place, its people, and the analysis of cultural materials are intimately tied to the artwork I produce to express the conditions in which people work and live.
Woodworker, carpenter, and artist extraordinaire. Jacoby supervises and manages both the Theater and the art and design woodshops. In theater Jacoby oversees and contributes to the Universities theatrical productions while supervising, instructing, and working alongside the students. In the art department he uses his artistic expertise in helping student visions come to life while serving as lead carpenter for the department's needs. In both departments he maintains and upkeeps the shops tools and equipment.
Kathy Maves teaches ceramics, 3D foundations, sculpture, and other art courses at UWEC. She has been an active potter and ceramic artist for more than 25 years. She maintains a ceramics studio outside of Menomonie, WI.
