Intro text

Two University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire faculty members are among 25 people selected to participate in the UW System’s 2022-23 Wisconsin Teaching Fellows & Scholars program.

Sections

Dr. Sarita Mizin, an assistant professor of English in the department of women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, will research feminist theory, medical humanities and 19th-century literature.

Dr. Kaia Simon, an assistant professor of English and director of the writing program in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, will research literacy, multilingual writers, feminism, rhetoric and composition.

The program provides UW System faculty and teaching academic staff an opportunity to collaborate with other teachers from across the UW System and from various disciplines. In addition to discussing influential literature, participants are guided through systematic research focused on improving student learning through a scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) project.

The yearlong program begins in late May and will culminate with a research presentation at the annual Spring Conference on Teaching & Learning in Madison.

This year’s program participants come from all of the UW System’s universities except for UW-Madison.
