The Sonnentag to host first commencement ceremonies Dec. 21

The Sonnentag will host its inaugural commencement exercises on Dec. 21 when 659 UW-Eau Claire students will graduate during two ceremonies at the new facility.

Nathan Donovan
Nathan Donovan, biology major

National Player of the Year sets ‘gold standard’ for UWEC scholar-athletes

Nathan Donovan recalls working on homework on long car rides to youth travel soccer practices, learning from his parents that he could chase his dreams with dedication to both academics and athletics.

On Dec. 21, Donovan will graduate after 3.5 years with a 3.88 GPA, a bachelor’s degree in biology and a preprofessional health science minor with plans to apply to medical school. On the soccer pitch, Donovan is the 2024 NCAA Division III national soccer player of the year and scholar-athlete of the year, in addition to being a two-time All-American.

COB grad Kaitlyn Riehle is ready for business

Riehle, who will graduate from UW-Eau Claire this month with a marketing degree, has made the most of her student experience to prepare for a career in business. From an active community role supporting small business as a student consultant to leading one and founding another College of Business student organization, Riehle's hands-on experiences have set her up for success.

Nursing grad named Future Nurse Leader by Wisconsin Nurses Association

Marnie Britton chose to complete for RN to BSN program at UW-Eau Claire because she knew it was the best program to enhance her skills as an emergency room nurse and provide the flexibility to advance her education while working full-time. She accomplished all this while doing community outreach that earned her the 2024 Future Nurse Leader award from the Wisconsin Nursing Association.
