Biography

Biography

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I am also the Director of the Community Fitness Program. Prior to coming to UWEC I was an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and taught in their Health and Human Performance Department for 6 years. I am a UWEC alumni who graduated from Department of Kinesiology in 2012 with an emphasis in Health Promotion. I then attended the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse and received a master's in Human Performance. While receiving my master's I worked with their sports performance department and completed an internship at USAFA in Colorado Springs, CO testing and training their students athletes. My Ph.D. was completed at Mississippi State University with an emphasis in exercise science. My dissertation looked at the effects a manipulating carbohydrate intake and timing while completing a high intensity exercise training program. Most of my research is focused on sports performance and effects of different nutrition interventions, supplementation and the best training practices. I enjoy teaching a variety of classes, but exercise physiology and nutrition are two of my favorites. My wife, Saira, two dogs, Stark and Daisy, and I reside in Eau Claire.
