Biography
Randi Goettl is a licensed Advanced Practice Social Worker and educator with extensive experience in mental health services, disability resources, and higher education. Her experience includes directing Accessibility Resources at Inver Hills Community College, where she led numerous initiatives to enhance student support services and campus accessibility. She has also worked extensively in supportive housing counseling and community support programs, developing expertise in working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
Her commitment to community advancement is evidenced through successful grant projects, including a $150,000 Minnesota State Collaboration Grant for mental health initiatives and a $160,000 Equity Grant for creating equitable community spaces. She has conducted research on burnout and resilience among human service professionals, including international research in South Africa.
Professor Goettl's contributions to her field have been recognized through various awards, including the Inver Hills Community College Employee of the Year (2021) and the MNPA New Professional of the Year Award (2018). She maintains active involvement in professional organizations and continues to contribute to the advancement of social work education and practice.
In her current roles, Professor Goettl combines direct practice, education, and advocacy to promote mental health awareness, disability rights, and community development. She is particularly passionate about creating inclusive educational environments and developing innovative approaches to mental health and substance use treatment.

Teaching and Research Interests
At UW-Eau Claire, Professor Goettl teaches Introduction to Social Welfare and Mental Health and Substance Use courses, bringing her extensive field experience into the classroom. She is also involved in the Blugold Launch program, supporting students with supplemental learning needs. As the upcoming coordinator for the South Africa internship program, she will help facilitate international learning experiences for social work students.
