Biography
Since arriving at UWEC, Dr. Ford has taught most of the courses offered in the department. In addition to work in the classroom, he has also participated in a number of different research projects with students. His Ph.D. work focused on the spectroscopy of gamma-ray bursts and while he continued some of that work early in his career, he also branched off into observational astronomy and numerical simulation work with faculty colleagues and student collaborators. He has also done work with radiation detectors and electromagnetic phenomenona. Dr. Ford has just begun a project to build a wind tunnel with a pair of students who intend to pursue careers in aeronautical engineering.
