Biography
Jennifer Chapman received her Ph.D. in Theatre Research with an emphasis in Theatre for Youth from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her undergraduate degrees are in Theatre/Acting and Psychology. Dr. Chapman teaches classes in history, literature, and Drama-in-Education and is an affiliate faculty of the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program. She also directs productions for the mainstage and tours a bi-annual theatre for youth production to elementary schools, grades K-5. Dr. Chapman conducts research about high school theatre across the U.S. Her publications can be found in Youth Theatre Journal, Stage of the Art, The Oxford Handbook of American Musical Theatre, and Ethnodrama: An Anthology of Reality Theatre. Dr. Chapman has served on the board of The American Alliance for Theatre & Education and on the editorial boards for Youth Theatre Journal and Arts Policy Review.
