Directory Information for Students
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is a public university subject to the Wisconsin Public Records Law (Wis. Stats.§§19.31-19.39). Directory information is provided upon request in accordance with state and federal laws and statutes. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire remains in no way associated with requesters and does not represent you or endorse your use of the directory information. You are expected to use this information responsibly.
Student organizations that do not receive segregated fees are considered an external organization for purposes of data requests. There is a $75 charge (plus tax if applicable) for directory information requests. The description of the request should be sent to Levi Liljedahl at liljedlj@uwec.edu. The request should indicate the date desired, where the information is to be sent, and name and address of the person to be billed. Data is prepared in a Microsoft Excel/CSV format.
Note: Fall term student directory information will be available after students receive the Annual Notification of FERPA Rights which is after the census date (10th day of classes).
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, in accordance with FERPA, has designated the following categories of information about individual students as public, or directory information:
- Name
- Address(es)
- Phone numbers
- Campus email address (username)
- Major and minors
- Dates of attendance
- Classification (e.g., sophomore, senior, graduate student)
- Enrollment status (full/part-time)
- Degrees
- Dates of graduation, including anticipated graduation dates
- Awards and academic honors
- Most recent previous institution attended
- Participation in officially recognized activities and sports
- Athletes' weight/height
Access to Student Information Systems
Persons requesting access to student data need to ensure that they abide by the student privacy requirements of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act. Please see the Records and Registration Office FERPA site regarding procedures used throughout the University. Access to Student Information Systems data may be requested by completing a BPLogix eform. Detailed instructions relating to completing and submitting the eform may be found at LTS Online Help document.
