If you are concerned about a UWEC student for any reason, please submit a report.

What happens when I submit a Student of Concern report?
01
You receive a confirmation email

If you included your correct email address when filling out the report, you will receive a confirmation of submission email.

02
An email gets automatically sent to the Dean of Students

Once a report is submitted, an automatic email notification with the full report gets sent to the main Dean of Students inbox as well as to the Student Assistance Manager and the Assistant Dean of Students.

During normal business hours, someone is reading the report within 15 minutes of submission.

03
Student receives outreach

The report is assessed for urgency, taking into account any other information the Dean of Students office has, and appropriate student outreach is conducted. This is generally via email with text and phone call follow ups. In urgent situations, calls to the student and/or a welfare check will take place.

Outreach always includes the offer to meet with someone from the Dean of Student's office and information on campus resources.

04
Student determines if they want to meet

It is up to each individual student if they want to meet to receive support and resources. We cannot require or force a student to meet.

05
Case Closes

A case is closed once a situation is resolved or when a student declines assistance.

Follow up notification to the reporter does not always happen due to FERPA protections and the sheer number of cases that get reported. Our first priority is always the student.
