How does NSE work?

National Student Exchange is a domestic exchange program. UWEC students continue to pay UWEC tuition while studying at an NSE host school in the USA, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam or Canada. Add an NSE adventure to your college experience!

Cost

The NSE Coordinator provides estimated expenses before starting the program. They also help you figure out if financial aid is available. This is a general breakdown of NSE cost information:

  • Application fee paid to the national office of NSE.
  • Tuition and fees paid to UW-Eau Claire for the duration of the program.
  • Housing expenses paid to the host school.
  • Transportation and incidental expenses.

Credit

It’s important to understand how the credits translate to your academic plan at UW-Eau Claire. You will complete an advising agreement before departure to ensure credits transfer to UW-Eau Claire. Grades from the host institution compute to your total GPA at UW-Eau Claire.
