Providing a valuable learning experience for students is the primary goal of the Volunteer Network. Volunteer service offers students a chance to test career interests, develop valuable skills, and increase their readiness for competition in the job market after graduation. More importantly, though, volunteers gain an awareness of the human condition, how others live in ways very different from their own. With that awareness comes a new understanding and appreciation of those differences surrounding them.
Another important goal of the Volunteer Network is to make an impact on the community. Volunteers enable agencies to expand their services, provide more clients with self-help skills, and generally contribute to a better quality of life in the Chippewa Valley.
Students, staff and instructors at UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout, Chippewa Valley Technical College, area middle schools and high schools are particularly invited to use this website to find opportunities to serve others. Many agencies and organizations welcome groups of volunteers as well as individuals.
The organizations listed through this directory have indicated that they are interested in working with UW-Eau Claire student volunteers. This list is posted as a service to students, and the listing of an organization here does not imply endorsement of any of the listed organizations or the volunteer opportunities they offer.
