Heather Fielding is the Director of the University Honors Program at UW-Eau Claire as well as a professor in the English Department. Her research focuses on the theory of the novel and modern and contemporary British fiction. Her recent work explores discussions about Ukraine and Ukrainian literature in modernist Britain, at the moment when the idea of Ukrainian nationhood was first gaining currency in the west.

Student Staff

Who better to tell you about the Honors experience than current Honors students? The students who work in the Honors office are all part of the Honors Program, and they have the experience and knowledge to answer questions about the program or about life on campus. Student staff members can be contacted at honors@uwec.edu.

Olivia Bishop
Graphic Designer and Media Manager

Olivia is a second-year student working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and a Latin American Studies minor. She loves the community of the Latinx Student Association, and the Multicultural Student Services Office. She enjoys tailoring her studies to align with her personal interest of crafting, ecology, and culture. Some of her favorite classes have been with Honors, and she is grateful for the academic betterment the Honors Program provides.

Brianna Evans
Data Analyst

Brianna is a second year student majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Mathematics. In her free time, Brianna enjoys hiking, crocheting, and rock climbing. She enjoys learning about new topics and making new connections in Honors.

Aleah Vetsch
Event Coordinator

Aleah is a second-year student pursuing a major in human resource management and a minor in psychology. She is an active member in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) organization on campus and is also on the leadership team with Newman Catholic. She enjoys walking around Eau Claire and discovering new places to visit. Aleah is grateful for the discussion based nature of honors courses and getting to hear new perspectives from students outside of her major. 

Eve Quick
Publications Intern

Eve is a fourth-year Integrated Strategic Communications - Public Relations major and is working towards minor in Plitical Science. Eve studied abroad at the University of Stirling in Scotland during the spring 2024 semester and is excited to share her experience with others when she mentors new Honors students fall 2024. Some of her most cherished moments and opportunities in college have been because of the Honors Program.
