CETL is your educator development center, serving faculty, instructional academic staff, adjunct instructors, visiting instructors, and any staff member who wants to learn more about teaching or student learning.

Teaching Academy (New Educator Orientation)

This week-long academy is an orientation to teaching and learning on campus. The primary purpose is exploring evidence-based and inclusive teaching practices to prepare for the upcoming academic year. You will have an opportunity to engage with other new educators and campus educator mentors. Whether you are a new or experienced educator, you will have opportunities to select from a variety of topics to ensure an impactful experience.

Teaching Academy occurs annually in August.

• Thursday, August 8 (in-person)
• Friday, August 9 (virtual)
• Monday, August 12 (virtual)
• Tuesday, August 13 (in-person)
• Wednesday, August 14 (in-person)

Please register by Thursday, August 1.

Once you register for Teaching Academy, you will receive additional correspondence about logistics for the week.

Educator Mentor Program

Upon request, new educators are matched with an experienced educator outside of their department. Matches are based on shared interests in teaching, research, campus life, and community topics.
