Biography

Sanislo is a proud first-generation college student who grew up in East Lansing, Michigan and went to her hometown university, Michigan State. She spent her junior year abroad studying in Freiburg, Germany and graduated with a BA in German and History from MSU in 1988. She entered graduate school in 1989, the year of the fall of the Berlin wall and completed her PhD in German and European History at the University of Michigan in 2001.  Sanislo has been teaching European History, German History and Gender Studies at UWEC since 2000.
