Biography
Professor Tester Morfoot began her career in the non-profit sector working in residential care facilities serving youth had experience with addiction, trafficking, and trauma which had led them to intersect with the juvenile justice system. She has also worked in non-profit settings serving families struggling with barriers to employment including transportation, lack of educational attainment, high/special needs childcare necessities, intimate partner violence, and poverty.
Her professional areas of interest include human rights, professional preparation for future child welfare workers regardless of discipline, policy development and analysis, and a commitment to continue to improve the working relationships between the court system and social service provides to lessen the negative outcomes for children and families when their lives intersect with these systems.
When not teaching, Jamie enjoys traveling, from a simple road trip to flying around the world, reading, and being outdoors.
