Biography

Biography

Collin Hawkins received his bachelor’s degree in global politics from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, his master’s in political science (focus: international political economy) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a graduate certificate in business economics from Harvard University. Prior to UW Eau Claire, he taught political science and economics and Chippewa Valley Technical College and spent a year teaching economics at Shaoguan University in Shaoguan, Guangdong, PRC. Outside of academia, he has worked with political organizations and organized labor. Prior to teaching, he was the Planning and Development Director for Western Dairyland, a regional non-profit focused on poverty relief. In this capacity he collected and analyzed poverty related data to assess community needs and built programming to ameliorate them. He continues to consult with the agency on a regular basis.
