Biography

The Small Business Development Center at UW-Eau Claire helps entrepreneurs succeed at any stage. We offer no-cost, confidential consulting and business education across a wide region, primarily serving Barron, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin, Rusk and Taylor counties.

From start-up, to buying an existing business, to large scale expansion projects, our team equitably serves businesses of any size or need.  

An expert team of consultants, including current UWEC professors, CPAs and former lenders, lead clients through our customizable financial projection process. This includes an in-depth financial analysis, discussions on industry insights, and an open dialogue for clients to ask questions. These experts also work closely with financial interns to prepare bank-ready documents. 

Key Responsibilities of My Role

  • Respond to client requests for consulting and assistance including initial screening of client requests, assessing client needs, making referrals to outside sources as needed and identifying appropriate SBDC response. 
  • Support the Center’s work by assisting with the oversight, recruitment, training, coaching, mentoring, and wellbeing of student consultants. 
  • Lead the SBDC Center’s client workflow process and manages the Center’s SBDC client database and documentation assuring compliance with SBDC standards and the needs of the Center. 
  • Assisting in maintaining schedules for lead consultants & student consultants including all team huddles, client meetings & project reviews. 
  • Foster relationships and represent the Center & the University in the local and state community by attending community events and serving as a liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups including the local and state community, Economic Development Organizations other SBDC Center’s and Consultants and the Capital Access Clinic team. 
  • Assists with the marketing and promotion of the Center and the services it provides.
