Community and Professional Collaborations

Within our department, Blugolds get the opportunity to learn while gaining direct experience with community organizations. Each year, Blugolds take what they’re learning in the classroom and use that knowledge to develop campaigns and communication plans. Those plans are later implemented in the Eau Claire community and beyond — providing unmatched, real-world experience for Blugolds.

Ann Devroy Memorial Fund

The Ann Devroy Memorial Fund is dedicated to the memory of Ann Devroy, a UW-Eau Claire journalism graduate and respected journalist often described as one of the best reporters ever to cover the White House.

The Devroy family’s generosity supports the Devroy Fellowship as well as the the Devroy Forum, which annually brings journalists of national prominence to UW-Eau Claire.

Cultural Immersions

As a Blugold, you're encouraged to immerse yourself into a culture that isn't necessarily your own. In the Communication and Journalism Department, we take this opportunity very seriously.

We have programs that can take you all the way to France or down to Selma, Alabama. All immersion programs are faculty-led and can last anywhere from a week to a semester-long. No matter where you go, the impact will last a lifetime.

Scholarships

The Communication and Journalism Department has a wide variety of scholarships available to our students, thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters. Some scholarships are only available for fall or spring, and some require you to have financial need, but all of them have individual donors — most being CJ grads — who set the criteria.
