Description

Develop Your Inner Artist

UW-Eau Claire’s bachelor of fine arts (BFA) degree in integrative visual arts is designed for students interested in pursuing graduate MFA programs or professional careers in the visual arts. The integrative visual arts comprehensive major provides you with an integrated, immersive studio experience with advanced levels of artistic exploration, experience, and focus. You can hone your craft in a desired area of focus — including ceramics, sculpture, photography, illustration, drawing, or painting — while also becoming a well-rounded visual artist.

In this program, you will be encouraged to select a theme of electives that will help you achieve your professional goals and allow you to take creative risks and grow as an artist. A few examples of themes are: "Form and Space" (sculpture, ceramics, etc.); "Sequential Expression" (illustration narratives, video for artists, visual vommunications, etc.); "Communication in Contemporary Culture" (photography, illustration editorials, UX design, etc.).

While pursuing the BFA in integrative visual arts, you will also have the opportunity to explore thesis or capstone work; complete relevant internships, community collaborations, or apprenticeships; and apply ideas and concepts learned from disciplines outside the department and translate them into your work inside the studio.
