The kinesiology minor can complement the related major of your choice. Previous students interested in opening a sports business have paired the minor with a major from the College of Business. Others have majored in communication, pursuing careers in fitness marketing. No matter your end goal, you'll find that a minor in kinesiology opens doors to a variety of career paths.
Program Details
From studying the overhead throwing velocity in collegiate baseball players to how a four-week balance protocol can impact cancer patients' quality of life — a wide range of research topics are available for you to study. Previous students have had the opportunity to present their research work at conferences or publish it in kinesiology journals at regional, national, and international levels.
Many kinesiology students choose to get a head start on their careers and pursue an internship. Internships are an excellent way to test career choices, see course theories in action, and make professional connections. Thanks to our strong partnerships with local schools, healthcare providers, and other organizations, you'll have access to many different internship sites.
Meeting potential employers and gaining a better understanding of the different types of careers available to you is a critical component of all kinesiology programs. To help you explore career paths, we host an annual Nursing & Health Care Professional Fair, an on-campus career fair specific for those looking to enter the healthcare field. This event is an excellent opportunity to make connections and submit your resume for current and future job openings.

Courses within the kinesiology minor will explore human anatomy and the relationship between motion, kinematics, kinetics and fluid mechanics with human movement. Through your classes — as well as experiential learning opportunities — you'll be able to assess physical fitness, function, and health/disability as well as use data to enhance individual fitness, health and functional capacity.
