Nursing: Clinical Agency Coordinator for Post-Licensure Programs
Job Information
POSITION: A full-time, professional academic staff position is available in the Department of Nursing beginning February 3, 2025. The working title of this assignment is Clinical Agency Coordinator for Post-Licensure Programs with an official title of Academic Program Manager. This is a renewable assignment, contingent on performance and funding. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- RN licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
- Ability to collaborate with health care agencies and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds (age, gender, culture).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with Graduate studies in nursing
- Nurse practitioner licensure
- Knowledge of UW-Eau Claire academic policies and procedures.
DUTIES
This is a full-time, non-teaching, administrative professional academic staff position in the Department of Nursing. The position reports to the Chair of the Graduate Program and works closely with the Baccalaureate Completion Program Director (BSN Completion program) and faculty. This position's primary responsibility is coordinating clinical agency placements for post licensure students (BSN completion, MSN, BSN to DNP, and MSN to DNP).
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Agency Coordinator for Pre-Licensure Programs, Graduate Programs Director, Department Chair, Associate Dean, faculty, students, and Dean's office in developing and implementing plans for post-licensure student clinical placements.
- Manage the post-licensure affiliation agreement process, including initiating and negotiating new and timely renewals of existing agreements for Dean approval.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Agency Coordinator for Pre-Licensure Programs to maintain the college's clinical affiliation database.
- Facilitate the recruitment and ongoing identification of preceptors and the availability of preceptors and clinical faculty for BSN completion and advanced professional and practice nursing role preparation courses in primary care, hospital, community-based, and educational settings.
- Provide guidance in the review of student preceptor and clinical site requests.
- Work with faculty to facilitate identifying and establishing organizational leadership clinical placements for the DNP program.
- As appropriate, collaborate with Safety & Risk Management (SRM) regarding affiliation agreement review and negotiation of clinical requirements, such as clinical placement requirements, health records, and background checks.
- Serve as the primary contact for clinical agencies related to post-licensure student placement and advocate on students' behalf regarding clinical agency requirements.
- Guide students, faculty, Graduate Programs Director, and Department Chair on agency requirements for student placement (e.g., orientation requirements, health work, dress codes).
- At the time of admission, review BSN Completion and graduate student documents required for clinical placement, including but not limited to health records, CPR and Criminal background checks, and other related documents to ensure completion of these records.
- Advise students on completing required health and other clinical agency-required records and ensure students complete the additional educational requirements for clinical agency preparation (e.g., health records and blood-borne pathogens).
- Monitor and ensure ongoing student health records and other related documentation maintenance.
- Ensure preceptor materials are sent to providers before starting clinical.
- Represent the College at healthcare agency meetings to advocate for and promote students' clinical placement in all post-licensure programs (BSN Completion, MSN, BSN to DNP, and MSN to DNP).
- Learn and use clinical placement platforms for post-licensure graduate and BSN Completion students.

UW-Eau Claire is the only public university in northwestern Wisconsin that offers a baccalaureate nursing degree. All programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
