POSITION: A full-time, professional academic staff position is available in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Foundation beginning April 1, 2025.  The working title for this assignment is Senior Financial Analyst with an official title of Financial Analyst II. This is a renewable assignment.  The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.  Also required is 5+ years of professional experience in accounting, finance or similar positions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior foundation or non-profit experience and/or experience working with real estate financials, including debt covenants and related instruments.

DUTIES: 

  • Plans, directs, and engages in financial and/or accounting operations for multiple areas; assists with data management, budget preparation and management, and financial reporting efforts.
  • Assist with expense reimbursement/credit card transaction oversight, general ledger reconciliation including bank and investment accounts, assignment of accounting codes, review of invoices, transaction validity and accuracy (auditing), resolution of financial errors, monitoring of encumbrance balances, and journal entries into the financial system. The position may serve as the second reviewer/approver of routine or semi-routine financial transactions.
  • Assist with monthly/quarterly/yearly close process including adjusting/reversing entries, consolidation and financial statement preparation.
  • Work with auditors to finalize annual financial documents and tax statements.
  • Recommends, interprets, disseminates, and helps implement Foundation-focused fiscal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with established rules, regulations and financial guidelines.
  • Participates in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of automated financial information systems.
  • Analyzes financial information and makes recommendations to Foundation leadership regarding execution against key performance indicators.
  • Provide analysis and insights on improving processes/efficiencies and streamlining costs to demonstrate effectiveness relative to external standards and benchmarks.
  • Take on special projects directed by the Controller as needed.
