POSITION: A full-time Student Affairs Program Specialist position is available in the office of Multicultural Student Services at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Experience working in student services.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and identities.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Event planning experience.

DUTIES:

  • Develop student-focused programming and resources to support academic, cultural, professional, and personal identity development.
  • Create resources for student activities and services including Multicultural Living Learning Communities, heritage months, and awareness programs.
  • Facilitate campus conversations around inclusion, equity, diversity, belonging, and social justice.
  • Mentor, advise, and refer students regarding academic, personal, social, cultural, financial, career and interpersonal concerns.
  • Support multicultural student organizations and oversee campus cultural center spaces.
  • Create content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and communication campaigns.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding multicultural student affairs to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee and supervise student employees and/or volunteers.
  • Participate in professional development, training, and growth.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in consultation with the Director of Multicultural Student Services.

THE UNIT: Multicultural Student Services hosts a variety of events and programs throughout the year to celebrate the cultural diversity of our campus, as well as addressing individual students holistically through academic, social, and cultural supports.
