POSITION: A probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in Finance is available in the Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Business. The department seeks a dynamic candidate with expertise in all areas of finance who is committed to teaching excellence and to maintain an active program involving undergraduates. This appointment carries an initial two-year appointment beginning with the 2025/2026 academic year, beginning August 18, 2025. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in Finance or related field with substantive research in Finance from a regionally accredited higher education institution must be completed by December 1, 2025.  Desired area of specialty is in general finance (with interests in principle of finance, banking, and financial modeling). Professional certification, evidence of scholarly activity, ability to bring diverse perspectives, and relevant work experience are all considered assets. Applicants should demonstrate capacity for high quality teaching (as evidenced by teaching evaluations if available). Applicants must be able to legally work in the U.S. as of the first day of the contract.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Finance experience, evidence of successful university teaching, as well as demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness are all considered an asset.

DUTIES: Applicants will be expected to teach courses as assigned in the Department of Accounting and Finance, participate in research and scholarly activities consistent with AACSB expectations, provide advising to students as assigned, engage in service to the university and community, and participate in department, college, and university committee work.  Teaching responsibilities may involve classroom, online, and/or hybrid delivery in both the undergraduate and at the MBA level.

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Accounting and Finance is a vibrant and cohesive group pf teachers and scholars, dedicated to excellence in teaching and remaining current I their fields through scholarly activity. The department offers comprehensive undergraduate majors in both accounting and finance. The present faculty consists of 11 tenure track/tenured faculty and 6 full time academic instructors serving about 400 accounting majors/minors and 600 finance majors/minors. Over recent years finance majors have stable growth. The Department also provides instruction for the MBA and entrepreneurship programs of the College. The department is housed in UW-Eau Claire's AACSB accredited College of Business.
