HR Administrative Assistant

POSITION: A full-time university staff position is available in Human Resources beginning in August 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter to assist with HR employment. The official title for this position is Administrative Assistant II with a working title of Human Resources Administrative Assistant II.  This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period.  The expected hourly hiring salary is $19/hour.  This position reports to the Human Resources Operations Manager. This individual is required to work in the office within the standard hours of 7:45am to 4:30pm. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Skilled at attending to detail in written materials.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Word as a professional work tool for drafting correspondence, completing forms, etc. 
  • Ability to prioritize workload in light of schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive and confidential information appropriately. 
  • Ability to project a positive, service-oriented attitude when representing Human Resources to the rest of the campus and to the public. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Ability to learn PeopleSoft and the upcoming WorkDay software.
  • Ability to learn BP Logix for managing forms.
  • Ability to learn Drupal for website management.

DUTIES: 

  • Collaborate with HR representatives and HR coordinators to assist and facilitate in employment related activities (facilitate and maintain BP Logix workflows, UWEC employment web site, etc.)
  • Draft correspondence (employment letters, employment verification letters, etc.)
  • Maintain metrics logs and other related human resources related records
  • Serve as the HR resource for ShopUW+
  • Respond to routine correspondence
  • Perform projects as assigned by HR Operations Manager
