Intercollegiate Athletics: Director of Men's and Women's Golf

POSITIONA full-time position is available in Intercollegiate Athletics beginning July 1, 2024.  The working title for this assignment is Director of Men's & Women's Golf with an official title in the Coach title series.  The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution is required. 
  • Demonstrated experience and success of all duties listed below.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to athletic excellence within an academic environment.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules.
  • Prior college coaching experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A master's degree. 
  • Head college coaching experience.

DUTIES

  • Direct and manage all Head Coach Men's & Women's Golf duties within the guidelines of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and NCAA Division III.
  • Serve has Head Coach for one of the genders.
  • Provide oversight of all recruiting and retention for both genders of qualified student-athletes consistent with the academic standards of the University.
  • Provide oversight and responsibility of annual budget for both genders which includes staff, travel, equipment, and supplies.
  • Communicate with golf courses to schedule all competitive and practice schedules for both genders, with Director of Athletics¿ approval.
  • Host home tournament each fall for both genders.
  • Responsible for all care and inventory of equipment for both programs.
  • Responsible for achievement in areas of retention, graduation rate, and leadership.
  • Must promote a culture of NCAA compliance.
  • Promote both sports with students, alumni, and members of the community.
  • Promote revenue generation related to the programs.
  • Provide oversight of all hiring and supervision of assistant coaches with the Director of Athletics approval.
  • Participate in department fundraising and events.
  • Participate in all major gift visits/asks when requested by Director of Athletics. 
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
