Mathematics: Visiting Assistant Professor

POSITION:  A full-time instructional academic staff position is available in the Department of Mathematics beginning August 19, 2024. The official title is in the Lecturer title series; the working title of Visiting Assistant Professor is available if the successful candidate holds a PhD.  This is a one or two semester appointment with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A Master’s degree is required from a regionally accredited institution with preference in the areas of mathematics, statistics, physics, data science, or computer science. The Visiting Assistant Professor title requires a PhD from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated potential to be effective in teaching undergraduate mathematics courses.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusiveness in teaching.
  • Must be work-authorized in the United States.

DUTIES: A full-time position involves teaching three sections of liberal education courses offered by the Department of Mathematics, such as Algebra for Calculus or Elementary Statistics, and one section of developmental mathematics.
