First-Year Application

Admission to UW-Eau Claire is competitive, and academic preparation and success are the primary consideration during application review. Each applicant is reviewed holistically, and nonacademic factors are also considered.

Deadlines

We begin accepting applications on August 1 for the fall semester of the following year. For fall admission, submit your application and all required documents by the regular decision deadline of February 1. Applications received after February 1 will be considered on a space-available basis.

How to apply

Please submit the following:

1. One of the following applications:
   • UW System application
   • Common App
2. $25 application fee (or waiver)
3. High school transcript
   Note: An unofficial initial high school transcript may be uploaded during the application process. An official final high school transcript will be required prior to enrollment.
4. ACT or SAT scores (optional)

Note: If you’re a military member, submit Joint Service Transcript or Transcript for Community College of the Air Force.

When will you hear from us?

Typically you can expect to receive a decision within 2-3 weeks of us receiving all your application materials.

Postponed decisions

Applicants who have received a postponed decision are neither admitted nor denied. Additional updated academic information is needed to make an admission decision. Applicants who have been postponed must submit semester grades no later than February 15 for consideration. Additional updated academic information such as test scores or course schedule may be submitted in addition to semester grades to help strengthen the application.
