European Studies
The UWEC's European studies minor will help you develop a multidisciplinary understanding of the peoples and cultures of Europe and its neighbors. This minor is an excellent choice for those interested in history or international relations.
Gain an Understanding of European Cultures
Through fascinating coursework and projects, you'll evaluate European systems, institutions, and relationships of power in a historical, political, and geographical context. The majority of the minor is made up of courses chosen by you. You may examine root causes of World War II or investigate the evolution of European art and architecture. An exciting and key component of this program is that all European studies minors are required to be competent in a European language or complete a Europe-based study abroad program.
Program Details
The majority of the European studies minor is made up of course electives, giving you the ability to personalize your education and study the topics that interest you. Explore courses in more than 12 disciplines, including geography, history, philosophy, theatre, and religion.
One of the best ways you can better understand European culture, history, geography, and society is to see it for yourself. A study abroad experience is required for all European studies minors.
History Enthusiasts of UWEC is just one example of an on-campus student organization that can provide you with additional connections and learning opportunities. Club activities allow you to engage in historical events and socialize with people who share your same interests and desire to learn more about history.
