Majors, Minors, and Certificates in Teacher Education

Explore options for your teaching career. Whether you’re interested in teaching younger children or engaging older students in a specific subject, UW-Eau Claire has a program that fits your goals. There are two departments within teacher education, Education for Equity and Justice and Special Education and Inclusive Practices.

The Department of Education for Equity and Justice prepares future teachers to engage students and make a positive impact in their lives. Discover your teaching style through practicing hands-on teaching techniques, working with expert teachers in local schools, and learning to advocate for more just schools and communities. You’ll collaborate with fellow students and faculty as well as make life-long friends while joining the ranks of Blugold teachers who lead their students toward a bright future.

The Department of Special Education and Inclusive Practices prepares educators to positively impact the lives of a diverse community of individuals with and without exceptionalities. Our passionate faculty and staff will go above and beyond to help you become the best teacher you can be, supporting you as you experience five classroom placements in various area schools. A combined special education K-12 and elementary/middle 4K-9 degree from UW-Eau Claire will equip you to have a meaningful impact on the lives of your students and community.
